Hadrian Ellory-van Dekker
Hadrian is a currently Head of Collections at the Science Museum and a member of the Science Museum Executive Group, leading and directing the Collections Departments at the Science Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
Previously he was Acting Head of Curatorial Services at the Science Museum, and Head of Corporate and Collections Information (CCI), Science Museum Group of museums, a responsibility he retains today.
Other positions Hadrian has held include Manager of Collections and Records at the Science Museum, and Documentation Manager, Collections Documentation Group, Department of Conservation, Documentation and Science at the British Museum. In 1999 he was Visiting Fellow (Collections) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He has also held the post of Assistant Curator – Documentation, Collections Management Section, Department of Scientific Research at the British Museum.
Hadrian was a member of the team that contributed to the development of SPECTRUM, the UK/European standard for the documentation of museum collections, and as Secretary of the Steering Group helped to develop the COMPASS prototype and system.
