Annual Report
For almost 35 years, the Collections Trust has supported museums, archives and libraries in delivering innovative, inspiring and sustainable services to their audiences. Through our networks, our know-how, our partnerships and the services we deliver, the impact of our work on Collections and Digital is felt by hundreds of thousands of people every day.
2010-11 has been a year of challenges and opportunities. Like many of the organisations we work with, the Collections Trust has experienced significant reductions in funding and has had to make difficult choices. In spite of this, our track-record of delivery and innovation continues, evidenced by the range of programmes in this Annual Report.
As Creative & Cultural organisations worldwide address the common challenges of relevance and resilience, it is more important than ever that the Collections Trust is able to maintain and support professional standards, and to help people engage with them.
Looking ahead, we have a strong and clear direction in Unlocking the Potential, the Collections Trust’s Forward Plan 2011-14. Most importantly, we look forward with enthusiasm to working with the Arts Council England, CILIP, the National Archives, the National Museum Directors Conference and others to explore the new opportunities facing libraries, archives and museums in the UK and Europe.
I am pleased to commend to you this year’s Annual Report on behalf of myself and the Board of Trustees.
Margaret Greeves, Chair, Collections Trust
