The Collections Trust is the new independent organisation for Collections. We believe that everybody everywhere should have the right to access and benefit from cultural collections.
Our aim is to deliver programmes which help people connect to culture, and which enable practitioners to improve the quality of their services.
To achieve this, we provide advice, support and guidance to professionals and the general public to help them achieve the highest standards in the management of their collections.
The origins of the Collections Trust's work in standards goes back over 30 years with our predecessor organisation MDA, and for the past 10 years we have been responsible for maintaining SPECTRUM, the UK and international Collections Management standard.
The Collections Trust is also an independent registered charity. We receive funding from various national partners including the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) and the national organisations in Scotland and Wales.
