The Collections Trust is funded in England by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council:

The Collections Trust works in partnership with Museums Galleries Scotland, and our relationship is managed through a formal Partnership Agreement.

The remainder of the Collections Trust's revenue is derived from commercial licensing arrangements, retail of publications, and publicly funded work programmes such as Europeana.
