IP Advisory Committee for Collections
MDA is supported by the IP Advisory Committee for Collections - an independent expert panel created to:
- Establish a position statement on IP and collections;
- Help instruct the future development of MDA's work on IP and rights management.
The IP Advisory Committee is co-ordinated by MDA. It meets twice a year and includes leading copyright experts and representatives from national and regional organisations, as well as organisations with an investment in the use of copyright materials in collections.
Members include representatives from:
- BAPLA (British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies);
- Bridgeman Art Library;
- British Library;
- DACS (Design and Artists Copyright Society);
- Farrer & Co LLP;
- Finers Stephens Innocent LLP;
- LACA (Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance);
- MLA (Museums, Libraries and Archives Council);
- Museums Copyright Group;
- National Archives;
- National Portrait Gallery;
- Society of Archivists;
- Strategic Content Alliance;
- Wellcome Trust.
