I enjoy working with museums because I love the way they encourage their visitors to share knowledge and experiences, and find out more about the subjects that interest them. From school children learning about the dinosaurs, to local people uncovering the history of their town and researchers making discoveries that change our understanding of the past, museums have something to inspire everyone. My role at the Collections Trust involves developing an annual Marketing Strategy for the organisation, and communicating news of the Collections Trust's work to our users, members and partners. I also work closely with colleagues to ensure that all Collections Trust services meet the needs of museum staff and volunteers, and I support networking and knowledge sharing among the museums community, for example, at the annual Collect trade fair. I also run the Collections Trust Membership scheme, making sure that all our 600 Members have access to the advice, support and information they need – from updates on events and Collections Trust projects to news of training opportunities and new resources. Away from work, I enjoy glass and ceramics painting, and eating out and going to the cinema with friends. |
