I work for the Collections Trust because I am passionate about collections and what they mean to people. I love watching people interacting with artefacts, discussing things with their friends and sharing their knowledge and insights. I want to help museums give people the best possible experience and this is the best place to make this happen.

As a Social Entrepreneur, I believe that museums, archives and libraries have a truly unique contribution to make to UK culture. To me, they are as much about the present and future of our country as they are about the past.

My role at the Collections Trust is to work with the Board to provide leadership and direction for the organisation. I am responsible for championing the Collections Trust's work to many different people, including the government and private-sector partners.

My work is wide-ranging and always interesting. I work on professional standards, new technologies, legal issues and new business models for service delivery. My work takes me to far-flung places. I also spend my time lecturing and talking to everyone from the Minister for Culture to students, volunteers or captains of industry.

When I am not working for museums, I spend time with my family, paint portraits and build automata. I have also been involved in running comedy clubs for almost 10 years.
